G Henle Verlag Educational Series

This volume signifies the start of Urtext publisher G Henle Verlag’s new educational piano series focusing on piano studies or études (exercises).
Friedrich Burgmüller’s 25 Studies are very popular for those of an intermediate level: between Grades 2 to 5 of the ABRSM exam syllabus standards. These colourful pieces transform dry technical exercises into vivid, imaginative miniature tone poems. Designed to rescue developing pianists from mechanical drudgery, the collection embeds crucial milestones—like rapid articulation, complex hand coordination, and delicate phrasing—inside brief, compelling narratives with descriptive titles.
Each piece has added commentaries, written by Melanie Spanswick, as well as added fingering (printed in grey print), supplementing the original of the composer (printed in black print).
