London College of Music Exams Pre-Grade One Syllabus

The London College of Music Examinations Board offers three Pre-Grade One piano exam syllabi. The Pre-Preparatory level is the first of these and is intended for the late beginner.
Melanie compiled, annotated, and wrote all three volumes for the 2021 – 2025 syllabus. The Pre-Preparatory handbook includes scales and specially written exercises. It also contains repertoire featuring pieces and arrangements by various contributing piano educators and composers.

Step 1 is the second exam in LCM’s three-book syllabus. It offers a slightly higher level than that of the Pre-Prep exam.
This handbook contains scales and specially written exercises. It also includes repertoire, such as pieces and well-known arrangements, by a variety of contributing piano educators and composers.

Step 2 is the third and final exam. It offers a level that might be considered just a little easier than Grade 1.
Similar to the two earlier exams, this handbook contains scales and specially written exercises. It includes repertoire with pieces and well-known arrangements by various contributing composers and piano educators.
