The following master class was filmed on July 5th this year at the Jerusalem Music Centre in Israel. This centre, which is part of the Mishkenot Sha’ananim complex in the neighbourhood of Yemin Moshe in Jerusalem, was established in 1973 by violinist Isaac Stern, and Murray Perahia was appointed president in 2009.
Murray Perahia’s insights into the following repertoire is, as always, fascinating, and the works presented include: Sonata in D minor Op. 31 No. 2 by Beethoven, Impromptu No. 1 in C minor Op. 90 by Schubert, and Etudes Op. 25, Scherzo No. 3 in C sharp minor Op. 39, and Fantasie in F minor Op. 49 by Chopin. I hope you find it of interest.
