Are you in a festive mood yet? Or is it a little early!? We all know our students love to play Christmas carols, particularly different arrangements of favourite tunes, and therefore plenty of preparation or practice time is necessary. So, for today’s competition, I have two copies of Jazzin’ At Christmas! to give away to two lucky winners.
Jazzin’ At Christmas! is a collection of ten ‘jazzed up’ Christmas songs arranged by British composer and teacher Rachael Forsyth, and published by Roo Records. I enjoyed playing these through and think students will find them fun; Rachael has included everything from swing and blues through to reggae and calypso styles. Good King Reggae, Manger Calypso, Not so Silent Night and Resting Jazzymen, are amongst the titles! Great for those of around Grades 1 – 3 level (or sight-reading for more advanced players).
Leave your comment in the comment box at the end of this post for a chance to win your copy. I will announce the winners on Sunday night (British time). Good luck!

This sounds like a fun and exciting addition to the festive repertoire and is particularly welcome as it is should be popular with lower grade students.
Never be early for children!! My pupils will love it. π
This sounds too fun to pass up a chance to win!
Not early to me! until the book arrives in Brazil is already Christmas!
I’m sure my pupils will enjoy playing these.
Hey!!!I like this book very much!!I hope I will get it!!!!
It’s November, so it’s not too early for Christmas! These pieces look like great fun, I would love to try them out!
Such fun, creative titles! Good way to get started on the Christmas season.
This is super cool! Christmas Carols in various styles. I would love to win this. I need more fresh festive music in the lower grade level. Thanks for the opportunity.
I would love to win this competition and receive the jazzy Christmas piece to share with my students. Thank you.
Could use a pick me up this week!!! π
I’m looking for jazzy pieces to perform during the presentations of my band during the following month and this could be the ideal for Christmas! Hope I can win this book!
Awesome!
What a wonderful way to make the holidays merry and bright!
Would love to win. I love jazz & want to introduce more to my students. Christmas music would be a great way to do that. Thanks for the opportunity.
This sounds like a really fun collection to sightread with family and friends!
School assemblies could be more exciting, yes please Miss Spanswick.
This looks great! I’m always looking for new material (especially at Christmas) for my students!
This looks fabulous. I have a worrying addiction to Christmas music!
sounds fun. Thanks
Oh. My. Goodness! I have a whole sleigh load of students who would love this!
Is this only available in the UK or do you ship to the US? If to the US, how much is it in US $?
I have a middle school student who is suddenly really into jazz. When ask what Christmas music he would like to play he said, “Anything, so long as it’s jazz.” This collection would be perfect for him.
I love jazz and try to help my students get exposure to it. Using jazzy arrangements of songs they already know (like Christmas music) is a great way to do that! I hope I get one π
Looks great — easy enough for younger students with some challenges for more advanced and accomplished adult players!!
How fun! I would love to win. Thanks!
Perhaps this is just what is needed to put me in the Christmas spirit. π
Would be fun to win!
This competition is now closed. Many thanks to all those who took part π
